Edgar Builders Ltd specialise in retail construction and refitting, with extensive experience in this sector since 1993.
We work throughout the UK on projects from individual shops to major city centre shopping centres and out of town retail parks, with contracts ranging from £50k to £6 million.
Clarks Village, Street, Somerset
Recent projects include:
- Original construction and subsequent reconfiguration of the Restaurant Terrace. This project to provide four restaurant units was completed in a live environment, working closely with clients to minimise disruption to the retail trading environment and customers’ shopping experience.
- Construction of a new build retail unit to design specification, to accommodate Superdry Retail Unit.
Treliske Retail Park, Cornwall
A Design and Build project for client Savills to provide a complete and high-quality facelift to the retail park. This involved working in a live environment to complete the project while maintaining uninterrupted trading to national retailers Costa Coffee, Curry’s PC World, Homebase and Argos.
Corporate Sector
We have extensive experience working with corporate clients, such as the extensive renovation of the listed buildings contained within the C&J Clark International Headquarters at Street, Somerset.
Education Sector
Edgar Builders Ltd provides a complete range of services to schools and colleges, including the prestigious Millfield Senior and Prep Schools. A brief summary of facilities constructed include:
- Sports Pavilion – Millfield Prep School
A two-storey state-of-the-art facility with a 360-degree external terrace in the shape of an ellipse. - Year 9 Centre – Millfield Senior School
A new Day house facility in the heart of the school. - Cricket and Golf Centre – Millfield Senior School
New build construction and fit out of 1100m2 indoor cricket training centre and 450m2 indoor golf centre and driving range. Both of these are state-of-the-art indoor training facilities. - Olympic Swimming Pool Refurbishment – Relining and general refurbishment of Olympic Swimming Pool, and replacement of and provision of maintenance equipment to the glass atrium roof.
Residential Sector
Edgar Builders Ltd have extensive experience in the construction of high spec one-off or multiple occupancy residences, using a combination of high-quality labour and materials to deliver a superior level of finish.
Community and Leisure Projects
We work extensively with community groups and councils, providing new build and refurbishment community projects such as the National Lottery-funded Tintinhull Village Hall in Somerset and an extensive refurbishment of the Restaurant Pavilion for the Royal Bath and West Society’s showground.
